Hire me

I am looking for a 3 or 4 bedroom home, preferably with a basement, for January 1, 2019, in the SE of Calgary, or in SW neighbourhoods near downtown, or in the NE near the airport. I have been living in a large home in SE Copperfield (see pictures). A monthly rent of $1200-$1600 is preferred.

I have a Masters in Fine Art from Simon Fraser University, and have taught as an Associate Professor of New Media at the University of Lethbridge and Simon Fraser University, and as an instructor of Graphic Design for the Marketing Communications Program at BCIT in Burnaby and Vancouver for 5 years. I also worked as a Marketing Specialist for the University of Calgary Department of Education Graduate Programs.

During my 10 years of post-secondary education, I studied and worked in nearly every medium, except for interior design. It wasn't until I moved to Calgary and the oil and gas market crashed, that it became affordable to rent an entire house.

I began learning how to apply my design skills to interior environments. Discovering furniture, furnishings and collectable pieces for a low cost at auctions and used marketplaces has became a hobby for me. Creating, implementing and refining design concepts is an ongoing process of passion I love having fun with. it

My idea of a vacation for many years was renting a bed and breakfast in and around British Columbia. I loved examining and experiencing the many different design approaches to interiors by the creative owners and hosts. I decided to research the managing and marketing of an Airbnb, and have since had a couple of successful ventures as a host.
