Hello, my name is Precious Reeves. I was born in Inglewood, CA, but I have been living in Miami, FL for most of my life and is also where I consider home. I have a four-year-old daughter named Kaylee and she is sure to keep me on my toes, but she is also my sunshine and I can’t imagine life without her. I received my bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics from Florida State University (GO SEMINOLES!!!), and I currently work as a Business Process Analyst for a medical supply distribution company. I'm currently responsible for support for our ERP, intranet, and internet. I implement and manage all EDI processes for the company. And, I also create and manage electronic workflows in our intranet for all business processes. Although I do not have a history in Information Systems, I was blessed with the opportunity with my current employer. They were able to see something in me that I didn’t see in myself and they took a chance on me, and I’m so happy for the venture. I’ve been with the company for three years. I started as a Purchasing Analyst and was quickly promoted to my current position. I was very nervous entering this role, as I had no idea what I was getting myself into and was a bit afraid I was being setup for failure. I would have never thought that move is where I will find my niche. After feeling lost since graduation, not really knowing what path I wanted to take career wise, I finally feel like I know what I want to do. Seeing what data can do for a company and the resolutions it can bring to common business problems really ignites something inside of me. I just want to know more so I can excel in this field. This brings me to my decision in enrolling in the Business Intelligence Master’s Program at Full Sail University. It’s only so much that can be taught in the work environment and I want to be able to gain the necessary skillset to grow and that’s what I’m hoping to achieve through what I learn in the program.
I also have a passion for cooking, more specifically baking and that’s what I find myself doing in my free time. I recently started selling my cupcakes and cakes and I have hopes of one day being able to start a business with this. I believe what I learn through my master’s program will also teach me a few things that will be helpful in getting this business started.
At 30 years old, I’m finally at a point in my life where I know who I am and know what I want. I’m excited about the journeys I’m currently embarking
