Hey, I’m Perez.

I am a policy researcher, analyst,and science communicatorwith a background in biotechnology, communication, and public policy studies. I am currently a Deputy Team Lead at the Bioeconomy Coalition of Africa, a platform for growing the bioeconomy in Africa.

I have over five years of experience and training working with government agencies, science organizations, and universities in Uganda, including the Uganda Council for Science and Technology, the National Agriculture Research Organization, the Open Forum on Agriculture Biotechnology, the Makerere University Biotechnology Society, and the Uganda Biotechnology and Biosafety Consortium. In my various roles, I have been keen on supporting efforts to build science- and research-led sustainable communities. I also serve as a communication and policy officer at SynBio Africa.
