Growing up with my three sisters in rural South Africa (the Bushveld, near Ellisras) feel so long ago and life then was so different from where I am now that I almost feel like the memories of my childhood are about someone else, not me. I have fond memories of later living near the Kruger National Park where our family spent many many weekends enjoying getting familiar with the African wildlife. Unforgettable days. As an adolescent I had wonderful friends that made my life interesting and just happy. We all surrendered our lives to Christ around 13 years of age and throughout HS encouraged each other in our efforts and struggles to honor Christ in all we did. LIfe changed when we moved to the city and our family was spread all over. These were lonely, confusing days that I longed for to be over. In my freshman year in college I met my dearest friend Ben whom I married 4 years later. Life had new meaning and excitement. I felt safe and happy again.
