When Dirk De Maeyer founded Polychimique back in 2000, it all started from a collaboration with the Wilhelm Klauditz Institute (Germany) and the BioComposites Centre at Bangor University to come up with a unique flame retardant component known as Siriono. Several years later, Polychimique now has a substantial number of clients from the four corners of the world.

Polychimique combines the power of science and technology to passionately innovate what is essential to the Industrial progress in what concerns flame retardant. The Company is driven innovations that extract value from the intersection of chemical and physical sciences to help address one of the most challenging problems in the Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) and Particle Board industry that is the fast burning process and smoke emission in the case of an unexpected accident.
