****Introduction****

Hi, I’m Poornima Sukant.

"I am the girl who likes the music up loud enough to tune out reality"

Music is the life that flows through my veins. My Father Late Mr. Pankaj Sukant was a great singer too. My music journey began from a ghazal "Ajnabee Shehar mein" that he taught me. The foremost thing in my life is to make his dream come true by reaching a stage where every one can hear my soul singing.

****Music Education ****

I am Delhi based artist.Currently, I am doing M.A. in music from Miranda house college(Delhi University). I started learning Hindustani Vocals in 2008 from former Chairman of Music Department(Kurukshetra University) Dr. Suresh Gopal ShriKhande Ji from Kirana gharana. Currently I am Shagirda of Mrs. Nidhi Narang from Ambala, she is from Patiala Gharana. I have taken professional course in Western Vocals from Nathaniel School of Music,Bangalore. I have attended "Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music" Fall 2015 workshop. I have attended Voice Culture Camps taken by Dean of Kheragarh University,Dr. T.Unni Krishnan Ji.

****Music Genre****

I am a versatile singer. I have the ability to adjust my style to suit different different music genre's. I am into Sufi,Bollywood,Ghazal,Bhajan,Western,Folk,Thumri,Qawaali,Classical,Semi Classical Music. I can sing in Hindi,Punjabi,English,Haryanavi. I have done more than 200+ shows as Lead artist across the nation. Major cities being Delhi,Kolkata,Bangalore,Chandigarh etc.

****Achievements****

I have participated in many renowned national and international competitions.

Mentioning few of them as follows :

*In 2008 , I was among the top 25 contestants in Zee Tv : Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs.

*In 2010 , I was semi finalist of India's Got talent season-1 Colors Channel.

*I was also among the top 30 contestants with my father in Waar Parivaar Sony TV.

*Top 60 saregamapa (2016) Zee TV

*In 2018, I was among top 40 contestants in Dil hai Hindustani on Star Plus channel.

*in 2019,i was in wild card entry saregamapa

*I was also National level winner of Pearl Cultural Festival organized by Bits Pilani Hyderabad Campus.

*I was semi finalist of Jashn-E-Begam Akhtar , DD Urdu and DD National.

*I also received B+ grade as All India Radio Artist.

*I performed live with Shehnaaz Akhtar (Sa Re Gam Pa's finalist) in Faridabad.

*I performed live with Shadab Faridi (Great playback singer , few songs : Malang malang, Jashn-e ishqa and many more) at Kolkata.
