Adrienne Bruce created P.O.P (Pen On Paper) writers guild for the purpose of gathering groups of individuals who are like-minded and who have a passion to express themselves through a variety of writing styles. POP was also formed to birth new ideas and stimulate gifted writers to push out their thoughts and share their inner feelings with potential readers through a plethora of publications.
Native Chicagoan Adrienne Bruce’s artistic talent is generational. Her father, a window designer for several State Street department stores, also painted viaducts in the Hyde Park neighborhood; while her artsy-crafty mother taught Adrienne how to loom, crochet, sew and cook. Bruce freely gives credit where credit is due, recognizing that she inherited her parents’ artistic overflow. Doubly Blessed one might say
Adrienne Bruce is also a former Cosmetology Teacher with the Chicago Public School. She enjoys teaching in an industry that promotes education, fashion and design. Whether she is styling hair, painting a landscape, designing a piece of jewelry or writing poetry, beauty is the end result, and it is beauty that intrigues others, which in turn brings her great joy.
Mrs. Adrienne Bruce believes that “Creating with your hands goes back to the beginning of time. God created the heavens and the earth as well as man. He formed and fashioned life. God gave us the ability to create beautiful things with our hands. People today don’t take advantage of their God-given talents, or even try to discover the gifts that lie within. These historical customs should be embraced, regenerated and retrieved to enhance our natural talents of today.”
