Alexandra Porter

A high-energy, goal driven, individual currently enrolled in the Business Management & Entrepreneurship program at Algonquin College, with aspirations of owning a business, as a professional organizer or perhaps as a restauranteur, - an industry where I have already gained a wealth of experience. Aiming to obtain a long-term position in the family business of commercial and residential general contracting, which has been established as a front runner in the building industry throughout the Ottawa region, and continue to build on the successes of my father, who is my inspiration. People oriented, keen to learn new tasks, very detail oriented; a benefit to any company. Interested in volunteer work within the community, most recently spearheaded my first fundraiser for the Children's Wish Foundation, with emphasis on obtaining sponsorships from local businesses. I also regularly participate in annual philanthropy events such as HOPE Beach Volleyball, the CHEO BBQ and the Wiggle Waggle Walk-a-thon for the Ottawa Humane Society.

I have a passion for anything that enriches the mind, body and soul, with hobbies such as hot yoga, organic cooking, reading, travelling, gardening and music. I am also very interested in hard hitting world issues, politics and the environment. I like to stay tuned in to the buzz of my community, and enjoy attending local fundraising events, concerts and Ottawa Senators hockey games.
