Portia Teng

With education and work experience in market research, public relations, digital communication for both corporate and non-profit sectors, I have refined my communication, research, writing and strategic planning skills, as well as developed a sensitive understanding of global cultures.

I graduated from Boston University Colloge of communication. I completed my master's degree in public relations, with a concentration in applied communication research. I have completed several market research projects during the courses of my study. This reinforces my quantitative and qualitative research skills, SPSS skills, as well as the ability to draw advanced conclusions and make strategic recommendations to clients.

Areas of my coursework include research design, sampling techniques, questionnaire development, measurement validation, statistical analysis, results interpretation, report writing and research presentations.

I hope to combine the art and sicience of market research, and bridge the data-decision gap. Most importantly, I am not sitting in the data-centric position. Taking the client perspective, I always think about what are the problems they want to solve, how to bridge the data-decision gap, and how to make good use of the data for better decisions.

I am also a photographer and world traveller. I enjoy reading, playing piano, swimming and cooking.
