Povi-Tamu Bryant
Nonprofit Coach and Facilitator for Justice Organizations in Los Angeles, California
I'm Povi-Tamu, a Black queer nonbinary coach, facilitator, and organizational development practitioner based in Los Angeles. For close to a decade I've been co-building Freedom Verses, a justice-centered capacity building and coaching practice that works with nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and the leaders inside them to close the distance between what they say they're about and how they actually operate.
I strongly believe that the organizations we're spending our time and energy building have to do the work of creating the conditions that allow us to be well as we support under-resourced and marginalized communities. I bring a power-aware lens to leadership coaching, 360° assessments, conflict transformation, and team development, grounded in lineages of knowledge and practice that center collective liberation and sustainability.
This conviction is born from knowing that we have to start building the world we want to live in and that nonprofits attract people looking to make liberation more possible. They are well poised to be liberation laboratories exploring how we can connect and build with each other in ways that will still serve us beyond the work we do inside nonprofits.
If you're a leader or organization doing justice work, I'd be glad to be in conversation.
