Thanks for visiting my site. While I have had many positions over the years, nothing has been as challenging as being a stay-at-home dad. Let's just say it really builds your patience and perserverance.

Most recently I was a geophysicist with Fugro Consultants in Houston, TX. I specialized in collecting, processing, and reporting geophysical data for geotechnical engineering and environmental assessment. While there I was a project supervisor on 11 geophysical projects from bidding to closing, mostly in the Gulf Coast region. Before that I worked as a geoscience technician in redevelopment of old 1950s oil fields for additional production. I spent a summer at the Geysers of California working on a 3D model for steam field development. While in undergraduate studies I worked two summers for the US Forest service, one in Alaska and another in Wyoming on silvicultural experiments and trail work, respectively. Lastly, I am an honorably-discharged U.S. Marine Corps veteran and data analyst. During my five year enlistment I managed five- to ten-man data analysis and linguist teams in support of Operations Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Iraqi Freedom (OIF).

I choose to work in geosciences, because it's a peaceful life with a great balance of indoor and outdoor work that suites my personality. There's something fascinating about shoving electrodes in the ground one day and tweaking computer models the next.

Best regards,

Patrick
