Praba Ganeshan

Accountant and Small Business Owner in Camberwell, Victoria

One of the things I find most rewarding about what I do every day is adding value beyond numbers. I actually don’t see just another small business, start-up medico or steel fabricator. What I do is connect with an entrepreneurial spirit. That’s because, like my clients, I’m driven to grow and succeed.

In that sense close working relationships are a hallmark of my service approach. It’s an opportunity to bring added value to the table and create real, durable worth.

Of course, accounting is the backbone but, it’s how I use those skills that counts. Building a financial picture, piece by piece, helps me detect current needs, identify growth potential and create worth. That’s where talents like tax expertise, accounting precision and SMSF know-how can be transformed into dependable financial strategies and in-depth business advice.

Often taking business services leadership means reading between the lines, and it always involves asking lots of questions. In the end though, it’s the clients who benefit. Like the time I picked up an R&D funding pool for a software developer client to access.

Actually, some of my greatest successes have involved filling in the blanks. Keeping on top of the medical, manufacturing and other business sectors clients operate within helps with that. Currently I’m also looking for opportunities to rein in client costs and recently launched a fixed price bookkeeping service as part of that initiative.

My own professional development commitment extends well beyond the CPA and Self Managed Superannuation Fund Association requirements for ongoing accreditation. That’s because I’m genuinely interested in extending my skills to better support owners of growing businesses and developing the acumen required to create a successful enterprise.
