I lead that exotic life in which I write for a living and travel for a hobby. How do I maintain this expensive hobby on the pay of a writer? Answer: In my brand of travel, it reaps more when done cheaply. I hike a lot, I backpack and I explore the best kept secrets of the map.
More details about these secrets will be revealed through tales on http://yellowmoleskine.com/ – named for the color Yellow which signifies the element of air and of nomads flowing through life like air, and for the writer’s Moleskine which is an essential in my backpack.
Travel for me has been more of a mirror, an eye-opener and a tutor than a safe armor or an escape. It has been about throwing myself out of my comfort zone and on to unending dark marshy, snowy and rocky trails, to mostly above 13,000 feet but sometimes at sea level, to mostly below zero degrees Celsius but sometimes in tropical climates, almost always unwashed for days together, to discover a mirror like glacial lake, or a peak above the clouds, or a sky roof made up of the milky way to sleep beneath.
Yellow Moleskine is a bare-all of the revelations that my travel has brought to me layer by layer. I hope you enjoy being in on these.
