Prajeena Karmacharya
Prajeena is international development specialist with an extensive experience in gender, project management, monitoring and evaluation. With two Master degrees in gender and public policy, she has expertise in managing and evaluating multi-million dollar projects funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Department for International Development (DFID), UN Millennium Campaign among other international organizations. She has coordinated policy events and policy dialogues at a distance on peace and development issues with civil society organizations based in India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Having travelled to Uganda, Ethiopia and Ghana, Prajeena has liaised and coordinated policy events with African civil society organizations, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), and African Union. She has also been trained by the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Swiss International Army on peace-building in post conflict countries. Currently she sits on the Board with Peacebuild Canada and serves as a Steering Committee Member for Women, Peace and Security Network in Canada.
She is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu and Nepalese.
