I am a Computational Biologist. I obtained my PhD in 2012 from the University of London, England. My research interests revolve around solving problems in biology by applying graph-theoretic and machine learning methods. I frame the problems; collaborate with computer scientists and co-develop methods to solve it. As a consequence, I have come to view the world around me as a gigantic graph. Hat-tip to my PhD advisor, Dr. Alberto Paccanaro.
I am currently Product Leader at Metaome, a bioinformatics start-up located in Bangalore, India. We are working on some super cool data analytics technology including a graph-based search engine for the life sciences called DistilBio.
I have been analyzing large datasets ever since the beginning of my research career. Way before it was called Big Data. A side effect of this is my affinity to information visualization. I also like to dream and I like to build. With Dr. Arsalan Daudi, I co-founded SignalFire Biosensors where we designed & built several nanoscale biosensor prototypes for invivo detection and localization of small molecules.
