Prasanto K Roy (PKR) is Vice President at NASSCOM in New Delhi, the apex body and industry association for India’s $154 billion IT/BPM industry and related sectors.

A former technology journalist, he was president and chief editor at CyberMedia, India’s largest technology publisher, for over ten years.

PKR is a green evangelist. His South Delhi home, Green One, was India’s first certified green home, and a pilot project for TERI, which awarded it a SVAGRIHA five star rating. (Media coverage in BBC, Daily Mail, Outlook, HT, NDTV, Hindu, TOI)

He is a major in physics from St Stephen’s College, and before that went to St Stephen’s College, and before that went to St Xavier's School, Delhi. He is active on Twitter at @prasanto.

He has written for BBC, Al-Jazeera, HT, NDTV, ET, Mint, BW, TOI, et al, and has appeared as a tech expert on shows for television channels NDTV, CNN-IBN, Headlines Today, BBC and other TV and radio channels. He has been amember of juries for NDTVGadget Guru Awards, CyberMedia, Nasscom, DEF, VodafoneFoundation, Dyson Foundation, and others.

At NASSCOM, PKR heads the Domestic Council and Internet Council secretariats. Prior to this role, he was a media and digital consultant writing and speaking on technology, digital and green issues.
