Healthy Living Videos in New Jersey
I am Pratibha Jani.
Born in India and grew up in Mumbai. According to the customary traditions of the time and place, just like all other girls my age, I was in my Mom’s kitchen training in cooking since the age of 12. I was also schooling all along. Yes. It was possible back then.
Truthfully, I have to say I did not enjoy cooking at that time. It seemed more like a chore. Over the years, I have learned to enjoy cooking and here's why. I discovered that I loved to cook but wanted to spend less time in the kitchen and yet have a healthy, tasty and easy to make meal on the table for all. So that is exactly what I did. I now love Cooking and sharing my recipes which for most part are Healthy, Quick, Easy yet tantalizingly satisfying to the mind, body and soul. Just the way it should be.
Over the years, from moving across the globe to a whole new world to raising a family and learning to adopt to the harsh cold winters of the North eastern USA, and some such other major changes in life, I have created some variations to these age old recipes and enhanced their usefulness and benefits in adoption to the place, time, weather and current environment.
I have also largely understood many of the yogic and Ayurvedic benefits of a healthy diet and plan to share all of what I know with the community at large. Food, they say is not just what you see on your plate and eat. Starting with the way it has been, cooked, who has cooked it, how it has been cooked, with what mental state the food has been prepared etc, etc. All of these play an important role in How it will eventually effect the person who eats the FOOD. More on this in one of my upcoming Blogs.
Indian culture is too intertwined with each and every aspect of human life, starting from before the birth of the child to after the person's death, it is absolutely amazing how it all starts and ends in the kitchen. Food plays such a central part in each and every one of these occasions. I plan to include prenatal and post natal recipes, remedies and therapies from the age old traditions of Gujarati culture which has helped me personally. Stay tuned for all this and more.
The most important reason to start this blog is to pass on to my next generation all I know especially since today’s modern life styles and career choices leave very little room for kitchen training during school years. We still wish we knew how to cook a simple, easy and a Healthy meal for o
