Pratik Naik

I’m currently working as Senior Engineer - Design (CAE) at ACG Worldwide (SciTech Center), Mumbai which is a research center for product development. My main role here is to understand the vibration characteristics of tableting machines & find remedies for the same.

I have sound R&D skills with an experience of 3 years in design and development of special purpose machines. In my previous job as a CAE Engineer I have worked on various challenging projects.

During my experience both as Research Trainee & as Jr. Project Engineer I have worked extensively on product design & development along with project management. It has given me good exposure in project execution, project evaluation, understanding customer's needs etc.
My Masters included subjects like Computational fluid dynamics, Finite Element Modeling, Heat Transfer Applications, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Dynamics and Engine Testing & Modeling etc. which have given me the edge required for this job.

My final project during Masters was ‘Effect of Cylinder De-Activation on Diesel Engine Torsional Vibration’. De-activation does however change the torsional vibration characteristics of the engine, is some cases problematically. This project was to examine this phenomenon and develop some MATLAB code to assess the effect of de-activation.
