Pratyush Srivastava is a writer and freelance blogger. He maintains a website www.pratyush.info which serves as his persnal blog and also hosts Daily News episodes. The news series, called “Daily IAS News” (DIN) is an audio series and provides a no-nonsense analysis of daily events.

Pratyush Graduated from Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi (IIT-V) in 2014 and holds a degree in Metallurgical engineering. All set for a career in the corporate world, his life took a turn towards the end of the college. Though he had been considering a career in Public Administration for some time now, but he was torn between a desire to be a rich entrepreneur, and an aspiration to lead a more meaningful fulfilling life. On 5th May, 2014 he met with an accident. It was the time for placement season of the college Having broken 3 major ligaments in a leg, he was confined to bed for 4 months over a period of one year. This gave him an excuse to take a break from the chaos, that a typical college life is, and just be.

This was an opportunity to become more conscious of lives around him and of himself. A career choice, which was once the most difficult problem, was now second to obvious. He realized that he was taking himself too seriously. That he needed to be more humble and driven and giving. In an attempt to break away from his own self, he shut himself from all the friends and most of the relatives. Anyone or anything which reminded him how fun college life was, was an anchor which would keep him back. Life is not meant to be spent at the harbour, anchored, safe.
