I wrote my first story at age 6. Not bluffing – a tragic Cinderella retelling that ended with Cinderella dead and her ghost haunting the wicked stepmother. And now, in my mid-twenties, I haven't stopped writing – and loving – stories.

Yet, when it came to telling my personal stories – demonstrating why I was best qualified for a role or introducing myself at interviews – I froze. Because many times, it's way easier to tell other people's stories than it is to tell yours. But with the rise of artificial intelligence and the ever-competitive global labour markets, only one thing can help you stand out: your own story, well told.

I am Precious C.D Oparanozie (Davida Opara), an award-winning multifaceted writer, communications strategist, and lawyer pursuing Africa's sustainable development. In my 7+ years of telling stories professionally; I have:

• Won 3 awards in national essay competitions (I only entered for a total of 6 essay competitions, so there's literally a 50% chance that whenever I write, I win).

• Edited and ghost-written well over 200,000 words of academic essays, technical content, and marketing blogs over 5 years.

• Been selected for competitive writing fellowships (think only 5% of applicants selected kind-of-competitive) and graduated tops for one of them.

• Managed a non-fiction writing agency with a team of 5+ writers while juggling my academics (you know, Law is tough – and I still made a great degree!).
