John A. D'Elia
Seminary President, Teacher, and Writer in Pasadena, California
I'm the President of the New Theological Seminary of the West. Some pedigree details: I'm a graduate of UCLA, Fuller Theological Seminary (twice!), and the University of Stirling in Scotland. My Ph.D. dissertation, A Place at the Table: George Eldon Ladd and the Rehabilitation of Evangelical Scholarship in America, was published by Oxford University Press in 2008.
For almost nine years I was the Senior Pastor of The American International Church in London, a congregation of American expats and Christians from more than 25 countries around the world. I was also a regular contributor to the Pause for Thought radio broadcasts on BBC Radio.
A piece of my heart will always be with the Christian community in the West Bank, and so in addition to my other duties I serve on the board of Musalaha (Arabic for "reconciliation"), a Christian organization that brings Palestinian and Israeli youth together to learn peacemaking strategies.
I'm an experienced non-profit professional, and I've worked for the Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles, Fuller Theological Seminary, and the Presbyterian Foundation.
