Lorilyn Prestidge

New York, NY

Lorilyn has a bachelor degree in Journalism and a minor in Communications. She has dreamed for being a journalist since she was young. She began reporting professionally in 2006.

Lorilyn joined WFIE (NBC) in Evansville, IN as a Multi-Media Journalist in October 2010. At WFIE, she excelled in investigative journalism. Before then she worked as a reporter and photographer for KAAL-TV (ABC) in Austin/Rochester, MN.

During her year and a half with ABC 6 NEWS, Lorilyn was touched by the inspiration she saw when 200 residents moved forward after losing their homes to the June tornado of 2010.

In June 2009, Lorilyn worked 72 hours straight covering an EF2 tornado that hit Austin. It cut power to most of the city, including the TV station Lorilyn worked for. Even without power, the team continued to cover the severe weather, using only a back up generator and a camera set up in the station's weather center.

Twice while at ABC 6, Lorilyn's work contributed to Emmy nominated weekend newscasts.

Lorilyn interned at WTVO-Channel 17 News in Rockford, IL. There she was touched with the courage of the people who put their lives back together after the devastating floods of 2007.

Lorilyn is a Dean's List student. She graduated Cum Laude and with Upper Division Honors from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. While at NIU she produced, reported, and anchored the nightly newscast NTC News. She reported and watched as the campus and community healed following the 2008 Valentine's Day campus shooting that killed six people.

Before reporting, Lorilyn graced several national and international magazines including CosmoGirl Turkey, Modern Bride, Parents, and Sweet 16. She modeled for Macy's, Carson Pirie Scott, Target, Kohl's, Peebles, Younkers, Maurices, Tafford, and that's just to name a few! She had national campaigns with cosmetic companies and shot with photographers from all over the world. Lorilyn lived in Chicago and New York City where she built strong connections with photographers. Her favorites include Dorothy Shi & Marc Anthony.

Outside of work, the Chicagoland native loves to be with her family and to be outdoors. She enjoys winter sports, water sports, rock climbing, hiking, traveling, exploring nature, horseback riding, trying new and exotic foods, cooking for others, video and still photography, painting, knitting, reading, and learning new things.
