Preston Carey Leslie

A recent graduate of Francis Marion University of South Carolina, I moved to NYC to follow my interests in Fashion and Art History.

Currently I'm working in the customer service industry and at a PR internship assisting a non-profit get up and running. I recently was accepted into the volunteer program at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

I plan to go back to school for another degree. This time I know myself better and plan to test my interests and see which is stronger. Already I tend to lean towards Art History and Museum Management.

I have dreams of one day being the President of the Met or the Museum at FIT, simultaneously I imagine myself being a fashion historical advisor to designers or going into design myself.

Right now I'm enjoying making a bevy of friends in New York, going to wine bars, dancing and an art history book club. I'm attempting to make more time for improving my sewing and fashion illustration skills.

My favorite things I've done since moving to New York are volunteering for a PR firm during New York Fashion Week and going to Sleep No More. Both were life-changing experiences. The PR firm has also offered for me to come back as a full-time intern in the near future, an offer I will take as soon as I finish my current one.
