Denim is unique with it's single colour, blue. Traditionally, way back in the 19th century, it was dyed with blue pigment obtained from indigo dye. Those days indigo was most significant natural dye known to mankind. The durability of the colour made a good choice when frequent washing was not possible. However, now denim is also woven in coloured stripes.
