Prince William Dance Academy
We’re more than a dance school… we’re family.Owner and Director Kim Teachout Thomas is the heart of Prince William Dance Academy (PWDA). It is because of her vision for a neighborhood place where families and students could gather, learn and perform that the Academy became a reality. Our earliest enrollment is with younger girls and boys through Mommy & Me, Creative Movement Classes, and Pre-school and Beginning Dance. Children begin as young as age three, and continue to learn and evolve as far as they want to take their dance training, whether for recreational reasons or professional aspirations. So that all families can enjoy the school, PWDA parents offers caring teachers, convenient, affordable and flexible payment plans, and even scholarships. PWDA is conveniently located to serve students from Nokesville, Bristow, Vint Hill, Gainesville, Manassas, Woodbridge, Warrenton, and Bealeton, Virginia. In 2006, Prince William Dance Academy moved to its current location in a beautifully restored turn-of-the-century church (formerly St. Anne’s Episcopal Chapel) in the heart of historic Nokesville, Virginia. Dancers enjoy the exquisite cathedral windows that flood the dance studios with natural light, gleaming hardwood floors, and elegant architectural details, such as the belfry, that make the building special and unique. The town of Nokesville was established in 1865 and prospered as a rural village with dozens of homes, a general store, public school, bank, The Hebron Seminary, and a train depot. Today the town retains its sense of nostalgia and country charm. St. Anne’s Episcopal Church was consumed by fire and rebuilt as an exact replica of the first church. It changed hands and denominations several times through its history, and has now been lovingly restored as the Prince William Dance Academy. Most importantly, Prince William Dance Academy offers a unique, caring environment for young dance students. We take pride in our warm and welcoming atmosphere where we focus on creating a fun and positive experience, while helping to develop skills that literally last a lifetime.
