Austin Hunter

Hello.

I'm Austin. Im a 28 year old single father of one handsome boy. I was born, raised, and for the majority of my existence the city of San Antonio was the box I spent my life in.

Outside of one trip to the magic city of Miami, I had not really been anywhere in my adult life. That all changed when I joined the Texas Army National Guard in the summer of 2010. My training took me to Ft Knox, KY and Ft Lee in Richmond, Va. As training progresses they normaly give you multiple off post overnite and weekend passes. I was anticipating this because I wanted to see our nations capitol, which is only 2 hours away.

Unfortunately, training was winding down and we were only to recieve one overnight pass that was restricted to Richmond. My inner rebel immediately took hold. I rented a car and drove to Washington D.C. While it is extremeley cold in january the city is beautiful when covered with a blanket of snow. In one short 36 hour window my life changed forever. Experiencing the Smithsonian national museum. Seeing a da Vinci painting, or the hope diamond. All of the science, history and architecture I have always read about or seen on discovery. Here it was right infront of me. It sparked a burning desire to immurse myself in everything this world has to offer.

My friends now ask how I travel so often? My reply is simple, "Traveling is a priority."
