Prita Kumar

A Houston native, I attended NYU and graduated from the Stern School of Business with an actuarial science major and mathematics minor. During my time at NYU, I had internships in consumer marketing, asset management and investment banking, and ultimately decided to join Morgan Stanley's Consumer / Retail investment banking group.

After 2 years, I left the analyst program to become an associate at Irving Place Capital, a private equity firm known for its consumer / retail investments. So far, I have worked on the acquisition of National Surgical Hospitals, monetizations of CamelBak Products and the Vitamin Shoppe, and on various initiatives with Pet Supplies Plus. I also currently volunteer with the NYPace organization.

In my free time, I love to explore new restaurants and try new foods (my friends often refer to me as a human Zagat). I love to dance and attend concerts, and I stay active through running, Zumba dance, and spinning.

My friends and family likely know me best for my obsession with fashion. I shop constantly, both online and throughout NYC. I don't have too many loyalties as I love to explore new brands and products. Eventually, I hope to start a fashion-focused business or a retail concept, leveraging my experiences in consumer / retail banking and investing.
