Priya Iyer

I am a second year Masters student in the UC Berkeley School of Information with a focus on Data Analytics, Visualization and its power to support decisions. While at the ISchool, I also discovered the wonderful intersection of open data and social impact. I am a strong believer in the power of data to change lives.

I love data and information. The fact that we are a species capable of drilling it, absorbing it and using it in numerous ways makes it all the more exciting to me. At UC Berkeley, I fell in love with Python and machine learning, presented a project at Twitter and interned at Apple.

Apart from that, I learnt Hindustani Classical Music for 3 years, studied two levels of French and occasionally update my Wordpress blog. My current hobbies include playing the Tabla and listening to motivational speakers (and watching cat videos) on Youtube.
