Even water from the public water system is going to have some impurities; these impurities may affect the taste of the water in addition to possibly have health issues. Water with scents and with a poor taste can make drinking tap water from the issue and even bathing in this water can be undesirable. The solution to this for most homeowners is any one of a range of home water filtration methods.
Water filtration does not need to be prohibitively expensive and may be fitter and certainly more palatable than tap water in many areas. But to determine which one is best for their demands the homeowner must compare the different types. A carbon filter using a slower flow rate will probably be effective at eliminating contaminants than a filter using a high flow rate since the water stays in contact with the carbon longer. What carbon is not good at is softening water; typically a softening system to cut the mineral content is employed for this purpose. Economically carbon filtration is less expensive than many other water filtration systems.
In that case a beneath the sink carbon filtered water method may be used. This ensures water used for cooking and drinking is as pure as you can.
