What I do

I love working with computer systems, from building systems to using software.

I also do a lot of software technical support from a user point of view online via a forums mostly for games software, The problems are often system related and or software set-up issues.

How I go about helping

Solving the issues involves getting as much user information as possible as to there system and current software set up, sometimes guiding a user on how to find this information, then taking care to compare what is needed to what the user has and point out the best action, usually this can be solved just by changing a few settings, not so much but on occasion the advise may have to be to upgrade the machine or a components like a graphics card. but for those I do try to get the best performance from just changing setting to the software & system.

Researching

I tend to find it easy to set-up and use new software, learning how to use it in a short amount of time, this comes in handy when trying to help users with software I have yet to use myself or I just do a lot of reading on x software to find out more about it and can often give advice from there..
