Larry Williams

My name is Larry Williams and I am a Disciple of Christ, Love to Emily Williams, Father to Brea, Jackson, and Lia Williams. I am first and foremost a loving son of the most high God. My title and identity comes from him and him only. I am second a husband to the most amazing woman on this earth. I am third the loving father to three wonderful babies. I am also a lover of anything organizational and systematic.

I have twice been a youth pastor in two local churches in the East Texas area. Before I was a youth pastor I was a state certified detention and community service officer. I loved working with 10-17 year students that was in the juvenile system.

If you were to ask the Word of God to find a place in the Word of God what the Word of God came to do he would flip to Isaiah 61 and read a short set of scriptures that changed the world forever. We find in Luke 4:18-19 two scriptures that tells this story that has burdened my heart since the first time I ever stopped to read it. It says

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

I love the way that Eugene H. Peterson in the Message states this passage
God’s Spirit is on me;
he’s chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor,
Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind,
To set the burdened and battered free, to announce, “This is God’s year to act!”.

In my short 34 years of life I have spent a lot of time people watching. The thing that I have noticed is that no matter what your status in life is, no matter your level of income, education, or influence you will find people who are spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically poor, brokenhearted, captive, blind and oppressed. Forever until the day Jesus comes back will this be human conditions. Jesus says himself that he came to preach, proclaim, heal, and deliver people in those conditions.

If you were to ask my wife and myself what our life message is all about it would simply be to Preach, Proclaim, Heal, and Deliver people who are Poor, Brokenhearted, Captive, Blind and Oppressed through the power, glory, and anointing of Jesus Christ, that is it.
