Tips on how to write Job objective in a Resume
If you still don’t know what type of job you want, concentrate on what you want to do subsequently. That might be working toward a long-term objective such as going back to school or starting your own business. In the intervening time, you need to earn a living, so decide on a short-term job objective that you are capable for and go after it. Make that short-term job goal the job objective for your resume.
TIPS FOR WRITING A JOB OBJECTIVE
While the job objective you write should meet your particular needs, here are some things to contemplate in writing it on your professional cv:
Avoid job titles.
Job titles such as “accounts assistant” or “business analyst” can involve very dissimilar activities in different organizations. The same job can repeatedly have different job titles in different places, and using a title might bound you from consideration for such jobs as “Accounts manager” or “business manager” It’s best to use comprehensive categories of jobs rather than precise titles. You can then be considered for a wide variety of jobs related to your skills. For example, instead of “accounts assistant,” you could say “responsible accounts management, support, and coordination position.”
Define a “set of responsibility” to include the option of upward movement.
Although you may be willing to accept a variation of jobs related to your skills, you should include those that require higher levels of responsibility and pay. The previous example keeps open the option to be considered for an accounts management position as well as clerical jobs. In conclusion, you should define a “set of responsibility” in your objective that includes the assortment of jobs you are willing to accept. This bracket should include the lower range of jobs that you would consider as well as those requiring higher levels of responsibility, up to and counting those that you think you could handle. Even if you have not handled those higher levels of responsibility in the past, many employers might consider you if you have the skills to support the objective.
