Sherri Weaver

Let's sum it up in two quotes! “Words have no power to impress the mind without the exquisite horror of their reality.” - Edgar Allan Poe. "Most people are other people.Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation" - Oscar Wilde. I am a simple girl who clings to literature in a complex world. I arranged a collection of my early poems in my first published book, The Murmur of Plume to Parchment. My life and my writing is perhaps a morbid mix of joy and tragedy concocted in large melting pot. The unimaginable is always imaginable when the truth is written; untainted and with passion. My love for classic literature, nature, art, and humankind is what flows dramatically inside of me like a cesspool, that is cultivated in my writing. The unwritten writings of women in the past and present, and historical events of enslavement that stifled reading and writing is what motivates me to open up the creative floodgates and immerse the world in them. A typewriter, or perhaps quill, is my only weapon against such injustices. A lifetime of careers but only one true passion...and that is for life, its wisdom, irony, beauty, perfection, and tragedy on paper. Can one find humor in death and destruction or pain in love, nature, and happiness? My poems and short stories have that finite power. I write as if your life depended on it.
