Marcus Bouligny –Training and Technical Assistance provider The Prospectus Group Marcus A. Bouligny has over 15 years of experience creating and directing youth development programs, with an emphasis in ATOD prevention. He has helped many coalitions develop and implement ordinances and policies, both local and statewide. His work with numerous grassroots coalitions, with youth and adults, has helped them to realize their goals. Marcus has worked with organizations such as Bay Area Regional Tobacco Education Resources (BARTER), Stop Tobacco Access to Minors Project (STAMP), San Mateo County Public Health Department, American Lung Association, Sonoma County Office of Education, the State of California, Youth Leadership Institute, and the Gateway Program. He has created many youth development programs from the “ground up.” Marcus brings a strong focus on environmental strategies. Much of his work has been focused around the implementation and strengthening of smoking and alcohol policies. Other areas of expertise include design and implementation of youth development framework; experiential team building and training activities; building local political alliances, strategic programs; and participant evaluation methods. Some past popular and successful workshops include working with youth to pass polices and ordinances, recruitment and retention of participants, training of peer-to-peer trainers, building school alliances, skills setting for youth development programs, motivating young people to do their best, and youth and adult partnerships. At the completion of these workshops, participants have clear objectives, timelines, and even tasks that they can use to move their programs forward. In his tenure as a CAPT Training and TA provider, he has worked primarily with the states of Alabama and Georgia as the SECAPT state Training and TA lead. In this capacity he has provided Training and TA around a myriad of modern prevention support and capacity building issues that include state-wide SPF development, alignment, roll-out and implementation; sustaining outcomes; environmental strategy (ES) selection, development and implementation; state NOMs infusion and alignment; coalition assessments.
