Protek Paint

The Protek Paint & Varnish Company was founded in 1950. It initially focused on the manufacture of the Alkyd Resins that are used to make paints, as well as making paint for home / light industrial use. In the 1960s, they moved over to focusing exclusively on paints.

As the company expanded, it placed its products into independent paint and hardware shops, and devoted time to grow its range, as well as offering more wholesale options. With a focus on quality products and expert service, they have managed to grow their business and reach loyal customers from the wholesale marketplace to the individual consumer.

During the first few years of the company's existence, painters would color paints on the job. Protek offered a custom color matching service, and this was considered to be unusual and pioneering at the time. Protek has been proud to offer that custom element ever since the inception of the company.

A recent development was their latex paints, which compliment their core range of Alkyd Oil house paints, as well as barn paints, and aluminum paints and pastes that were a core part of their market in Canada.
