protofuse

protofuse is an electronic music composer, sound designer and performer.
It consists of Julien Bayle, actually living in Marseille, France.
After a long travel inside long nights mixing, he began to compose in the mids of 90′ with many machines and complex hardware interfaces.
Since 2005, he began to use exclusively his laptop and many physical interfaces to intuitively create soundscapes always different, to improvise each live set as a unique music & sounds experience for an everytime enthusiastic public. He floats inside ambient and drone soundscapes and can also be found inside dub-techno. He loves minimal music, micro-sounds & complex rythmic structures too.
Invited many times, from new york manhattan & brooklyn to other european places, he provides his music during 1 or 2 hours livesets both for ambient & more intimate scenes but for more rythmed & ravey dancefloors too.
He uses a lot of technology and teaches courses about max/msp/jitter environment, ableton live & max for live’s addon. He loves electronic hardware and used to create hard & soft interfaces between things.
He participated to the last Pecha Kucha Night in France. He built his own controller in order to control his ableton live’s liveset during musical live performance: the « famous » protodeck controller.
He releases music & performs live as protofuse and under his own name too.
He provides courses/training & interactive workshops electronics, software, hardware and technology. He leads Design the Media company.
