Parinita Salian

I am Parinita, a Digital Marketer and Food Content Creator. I document traditional South-Indian recipes from the city of Mangalore, India.

After graduating in Mass Media, followed by two years of Commercial Photography studies, I worked as a freelance photographer before moving onto working full-time as a writer and in-house photographer. Moving my base to London, I joined DPReview in the year 2008. It was in this city where the idea of blogging struck me. Away from home, I wanted to find a way to preserve some of my grandma and mom's recipes.

After Amazon.com acquired it as wholly owned subsidiary, I relocated to the company's HQ in Seattle in 2010. Seattle was an inspiring city. Colorful people, warm and friendly neighborhoods and a culinary delight.

After a couple of lovely years abroad, I moved back to my home in Mumbai closer to my family for a couple of years.

Today I am loving the new phase of life in Edmonton, Canada with my husband and canine son Leo.

Every city and chapter has shaped me to adapt in various situations. Amongst all the changes, a constant remains my passion for regional food and it's preservation. Hopefully I take bigger steps towards it someday. You can follow my Instagram page @parinita.s for updates and latest recipes.
