Billy Holland

Billy was born and grew up in Lexington Kentucky and graduated from Tates Creek High School. He was raised in church and at 12 years old, he was shown a few chords on the guitar which ignited a life-long passion for music. He received Jesus as his Lord and was baptized when he was 14 and his first ministry experience was leading the youth with his guitar as they sang worship songs in front of the church every so often. At 16, he fell away from the church as the distractions of having a car and landing a job became a strong temptation to venture out into a new independence. Billy went through a season of rebellion and even after he met his wife Cheryl, (they were married in 1977) he continued running away from the Lord. He has been given several unique blessings and encouragements from the Lord who inspired individuals to bless him including; being given a Martin D-35, thousands of dollars for professional recording expenses, and other miraculous financial gifts that were supplied as a confirmation that God was with them. In the eighties, Billy was being used by the Lord in playing and singing popular Christian songs and leading worship services, but one night in 1984 during a revival as the evangelist was preaching, he stopped and pointed his finger to Billy and said that Billy was going to write the “new song” of the Lord.
