When I'm not molding impressionable young minds I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how stuff we (people) do in, on, and to the ocean affects the plants and animals that live there.
Mostly I'm concerned with how critters and the ecosystems to which they belong respond to change. Changes like invasive species, physical disturbance, hypoxia (low oxygen), acidification (low pH), and climate disruption. My goal is to help folks understand these changes and mitigate their impacts.
And I drink a lot of soda pop.
