My name is Prince and I am a political correspondent. Every week I write public policy issues that affect YOU and THE WORLD AROUND YOU. I am 24 years old, and have earned my bachelor’s degree from none other than San Diego State University; majoring in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Political Science (May 2012). From my collegiate education, I did not only successfully interned for one of the youngest senators in Congress (Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand D-NY) at Capitol Hill, but campaigned for the Massachusetts Democratic Party where we single-handedly elected the first female senator in Massachusetts history (Sen. Elizabeth Warren D-MA). I first got into politics from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in Washington, D.C. The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, public policy, research and educational institute that aims to advance the global black community by developing leaders, informing policy, and educating the public. And as such, I was selected, along with many other rising African American students around the country, on the board to serve and learn politcs on the Hill in Spring 2011. I studied at George Washington University and learned ways to improve my community through public policy. Not only was I awarded a full stipend to work in Washington, D.C., but was given the “Emerging Leader” award from the Foundation—being the first African American Male student from San Diego State University to receive this distinguished award. Currently I reside in Boston where I participate in political grassroots campaigns; compose political articles weekly for the San Diego Monitor News; promote new businesses and fashion trends; help create an afterschool writing program (Project Write); host a new radio talk show through www.urbusinessnetwork.com; and applying for law schools. Notable achievements that are also worth mentioning during my undergraduate education: studying abroad at Oxford University (UK) through Dr. Stoddard’s Oxford Study Abroad program; and winning Mr. GQ SDSU in March 2010.
