Peter J Stogios
Scientist in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Curiosity, persistence and critical analysis are central to my personality. I strive to understand the inner workings of biological systems and I'm passionate about pushing the boundaries of knowledge. I'm a visual person; I create images of the molecular world around us. I use these personality traits every day in my work as a structural biology research scientist.
My scientific research focus is on infectious disease and particularly in the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance in drug-resistant bacteria ("superbugs").
I am currently located in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the University of Toronto. I am a member of the Center for Structural Genomics of Infectious Diseases, a National Insititutes of Health (NIH) contracted organization for high-throughout protein structure determination.
