My "day job" is to manage my own portfolio, and I focus on small-mid capitalization Canadian stocks, and some "special situations" in venture capital. I also serve on on the board of directors of three private companies, and am on the board of advisors of several early stage companies. Occasionally, I am also asked to assist on a corporate finance transaction or growth project; for example, I have been engaged on an M&A transaction to sell a well-established travel business based in New York. I am very fortunate that I am in a position to be able to work only with people I like, trust and respect, and it is a pleasure and privilege to be able to work in this way.

Nevertheless. I am also trying to develop a "second career" as a writer and I have two projects underway, one fiction and one non-fiction; however, I have found it difficult to find the time to focus on them - the finance projects seem to always get in the way!
