Heading toward my sixtieth birthday I have spent nearly 35 years teaching the Bible, counseling a wide variety of life issues, and discipling and mentoring men.
I have tried to emulate the pattern which Jesus used to form his disciples - lots of time, much of it informal but always with an eye toward encourging men to be better men, more attentive and loving husbands and exemplary fathers. Almost without exception the context is friendship.
John 15:15
No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
I also have the greatest affection for Brazil having traveled and taught there many times. I've been in Amazon region several times, Nova Lima, Belo Horizonte, Ouro Preto, Sao Paulo over these past ten years. My trips to Brazil have been life defining.
