Puruesh Chaudhary

Puruesh Chaudhary is a media development and strategic communication professional pertaining to key functional areas covering research and content intelligence. She’s currently pursuing a professional master’s degree programme in International Negotiation and Policymaking from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. Puruesh Chaudhary has been a professional broadcast editor and has worked in leading news channels in Pakistan. She is also the Center of International Media Ethics’ (CIME) Ambassador to Pakistan. As the Director for Mishal Pakistan, Chaudhary designed an initiative called “AGAHI” an investigative journalism and responsible reporting programme that trains journalists, media and communication professionals. She founded the country’s first journalism awards “The Agahi Awards”, which were first held in March 2012. In 2011, she registered AGAHI, as non-governmental organization, which works extensively on creating platforms based on knowledge collaboration and information sharing initiatives on socio-economic indicators. Chaudhary is the youngest Alumnae at the National Defence University in Pakistan and has also been recognized as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum. She assists and works on various communication and outreach initiatives with UNESCO, UNICEF, DANIDA, CIME, Save the Children, Internews, British High Commission/US State Department-funded development programs, Faith-Matters, International Center for Journalists, Ministry for Information and Broadcasting of the Government of Pakistan, Fatima Jinnah Women University, Press Council of Pakistan, Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan, WWF-Pakistan. She is the co-founder and is one of the trustees on the board of the Media Development Trust.
