I am passionate about healing communities that transform lives.

I have had the opportunity to do this in a variety of positions from being a teacher, associate pastor, Executive Director, and leading schools. I have had the unique experience to apply what I have learned about organizational dynamics and brain health with the education community. Youths, in their critical young adult and teenage years, are particularly susceptible to the toxic and stressed environment as they struggle to find who they are and their place in the world. I am challenged to help others think outside the box in transforming the world.

I was the founder and director of Hopeworks ‘N Camden, a groundbreaking youth development program that trains young people ages 14-23 in website design, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Salesforce. In Camden, where the Hopeworks office is located, an estimated 70% of students drop out of the public high schools while 53% of all youth live below the poverty line. Crime is high and opportunities are few and far between. Hopeworks is a direct response to these challenges.

What began as an outreach program to neighborhood kids quickly grew into a thriving non-profit that doubles as a tech startup. While many organizations provide job training to disadvantaged youth, I realized that Hopeworks had to do more if it was going to make a lasting impact. My trained staff and I not only helped young people gain essential professional skills; we also offered them community, stability, and the chance to grow into their full potential. Through trauma-informed care and an emphasis on educating and healing the whole person, Hopeworks has helped hundreds of young people overcome the negative experiences and influences that often derail their futures so that they can stay on track and reach their goals.

As an education leader, non-profit director, social enterprise entrepreneur, business developer, and trauma care specialist, I have a diverse skill set that enables me to transform institutions “beyond their box” into what they can be.

People often assume I have done this work because it is what "Jesuits do” and I suppose that is mostly correct. However, more personally for me, I found Jesus alive and working everywhere and, as a Jesuit, I desire to work alongside Him wherever and however I am called.
