Philipp von Roeder is a writer and communications professional with over two decades of experience in journalism, public affairs, and PR. As of 2008, he has been working independently as a communications consultant for the digital industry, consulting small start-ups as well as big players from the German and international market. Before this, he worked for Europe’s biggest TV station, ZDF, and Germany's leading advertising agency Scholz&Friends. He is well-known for his expertise in setting up and executing communication strategies.
To give back to the tech community, Philipp has been a mentor for many years for example at Techstars Berlin, GTEC and Axel Springer's Plug and Play.
In 2008, Philipp von Roeder started his own practice, VONROEDER Communications, a Berlin-based agency with focus on the digital and tech industry. When it comes to PR for tech and digital, Philipp is the person to go to. Being a journalist and writer at heart, Philipp writes about the digital industry in several publications.
2016-17, Philipp served as Director of Communications at the German Tech Entrepreneurship Center (GTEC) that brings together startups, corporations, academia and the public to promote entrepreneurship on a global scale.
2007-08, he was Managing Director for the PR Agency DauthKaun. From 2000-2007, Philipp worked for Scholz & Friends, where he orchestrated numerous integrated campaigns for the private and public sector.
Before that, Philipp was part of the editorial team at the ZDF Morning Show.
Philipp holds a degree in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin. He started his academic career at the University of Stuttgart in 1994.
Philipp was born in Brussels, moved around a lot and had longer stays in the USA, Hong Kong and London.
Philipp loves to cook and sail and is totally into all kinds of gadgets.
