Qais al-Khonji is an businessman in the country of Oman. He is the founder of Qais United Enterprises Trading, and his more recent/prominent endeavor, Genesis International. Qais al-Khonji not only runs his own enterprises, but also serves as a prominent board member for many Omani companies and organizations, such as Oman Fisheries, Oman National Engineering and Investments, Entrepreneurs Organization: Oman Chapter, Fund for Development of Youth Projects, also known as Sharakah and Muscat National Holding Company. He is especially known for his endeavors in assisting the Omani people in efforts to start their own businesses; he is extremely serious about working to expand the job market as well as the Omani economy by way of business formation and growth.

Qais al-Khonji has been recognized by his government as a representative of the country and was appointed as a member of the Entrepreneur’s Organization to meet with former Indian President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to discuss Indian-Omani business relations.
The Omani government is in the process of initiating various projects to develop and enhance their economy in order to keep up with the rest of the world’s more modern practices. Similarly, these projects will aim to improve the standard of living for the Omani citizens and to help their nation become a more active force within the global marketplace. Oman became a member of the World Trade Organization in October 2000, and continues to amend its financial and commercial practices to conform to international standards. Oman’s economy relies heavily on agriculture and fishing industries, and with the application of modern technology, it is anticipated that there will be significant progress within these two industries. Qais al-Khonji hopes to use his businesses to promote entrepreneurship and develop a more diverse and accessible field of jobs for Omanis, as well as to open the minds of youths and educate them on entrepreneurial skills and how to implement them for the betterment of Omani society.
