I started out as a collector quite some time ago. What started as a hobby very quickly turned into a passion for over 20 years now. I searched hundreds of local galleries and antique stores, researched a great deal, visited auctions and generally immerse myself in fine decorative arts to better understand pricing, what is valuable, the difference between the average versus the best and discovered many like-minded collectors to learn from. Very shortly thereafter, I started focusing primarily on researching artwork and my husband stuck with decorative arts. I studied a lot of artists and decided to focus on American artwork that are the rarest and command the greatest investment returns. I specifically focused on Hudson River School landscape artists that range from 1780′s to the 1890′s, African American Artists from the same time period (I found it interesting to own artwork from free slaves), and 19th century American master artists for the variety of styles. This resulted over the years of finding some really extraordinary pieces, a strong niche of fellow collectors to work with and over 20 years of advice to provide to others looking to find rare finds as well. Our friends and acquaintance desired the same sort of purchases we had but did not have the time or knowledge to find them for themselves. I decided to start my own consulting practice. Now I specialize in advising my clients on the right purchases to make based off quality, price, value and appreciation. I make sure to advise them on pieces they will love, but that are smart investments. I’ve worked as an executive for the NFL, commercial technologies and medical Sales, and the Federal Public Sector. I have clients from all of these avenues. Today I run a successful niche art gallery out of Pittsburgh and Washington, DC where I consult and sell almost exclusively Hudson River School artwork. I am a featured expert on allexperts.com. I have several blogs around fine decorative art investing, African American Fine art and Hudson River School artwork. In December 2010 and January 2011, I was featured as an expert on Black Art In America. I am married to my best friend a decorative arts collector who helps me raise our two beautiful children. It would greatly enjoy helping you and your family select their next rare piece of art they can pass on for generations to come.
