Qing Lan

Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China

I'm a freelance consultant for small businesses in China. I leverage cutting-edge technology and management expertise to help them innovate business model.

Born and raised in remote Inner Mongolia, I had no idea about other parts of China, let alone the world. Technology opened my eyes and revitalized my parents' dealership. I became a technology enthusiast and hoped one day I can use technology to help small businesses like my parents'.To improve my skills, I majored in computer science and interned at eBay. But the internship made me realize that without management, technology is insufficient to support business. So I joined Accenture as a business & IT consultant to combine technology and management effectively. To give my whole attention to small businesses, I quit the job and became a freelance consultant.

In the future, I plan to found a consulting firm to help more small businesses in China transform business model. But I lack exposure to finance and entrepreneurship. I'm now pursuing MBA ‘17.

Besides, since grown-up I've lived and worked in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing and Guangzhou to experience different China. I've attended 24 rock festivals as part of my mission to attend a festival in each of the 34 provinces. I used to be the captain of school varsity basketball. I'm now a Scuba Diver. I'm a volunteer for Junior Ahievement. I'm also a certified cook of Chinese cuisine and cook for my family almost everyday. I'm a delighted father of a coming baby (Dec 2014).
