"In order to be someone, you must first be yourself." - ???

Q. Terah Jackson is a writer-director of screen and stage with a MFA from the AFI Conservatory’s as a member of the 2012 screenwriting discipline. At AFI, he wrote/co-wrote five short films of high quality, two feature films and two TV pilots. His work, RUSTIN and JULIUS-X, has attracted the attention of the Nicholl Fellowships, the Sundance/Sloan Program, and the WGAW’s Feature Access Program. While at AFI, he interned in Participant Media’s narrative department reading scripts and delivering mail that provided him with great insight into the creation of films that both, inspire and entertain. Jackson is a participant in the 2008 Lincoln Center’s Directors’ Lab and a four-time grant recipient from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. His directing credits include the short documentary film, GETTING TO KNOW TIFFANE, about a woman finding the strength to restart her life after her mother’s death, and an improvised play about a fallen star completing her court-mandated community service in a church’s theater club, which Jackson has since developed into a half hour comedy pilot, ST. CARMICHAEL'S PLAYHOUSE. His teaching artist credits and acting credits include Ford’s Theatre Society, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, African Continuum Theatre Company and the Smithsonian’s Discovery Theatre. Often writing biopics and science fiction, Jackson’s work features characters that struggle with empathy and creativity in the face of adversity, injustice and fear to achieve a greater good. He is currently an excited member of 2013 Project Involve Program.
